Spinning is TOUGH but burns a TON of calories. Make sure you bring water and a towel with you because you're going to sweat buckets!

The class was great...sweat a lot and feel great! I usually only run so doing something different was a great change of pace.

The only thing is my rear end is killing me today.

Yeah those seats aren't all that comfy! You need to wear those cycling shorts - they have that padding that looks like a big maxi pad in the crotch

If you are going to do it on a consistent basis, I recommend getting a heart monitor and those gel seats....they wanot be so harsh on your butt

Don't push too hard, one of my BMs did it with me and almost passed out. She had to stop.
I used to take it a lot and it's a great workout...bring A LOT of WATER!!!

Stupid question - is this using a regular exercise bike? Meaning.....can I do this on my bike at home?

Re: Going to my first spinning class tonight!

I just went to spinning for the first time this week. Holy crap, what a workout!!! I don't think I have sweat that much since basketball practices in college. I sort of felt like I might keel over and die in the first 10 minutes, but it improved

Lots and lots of water is a good idea. Even if you plan to 'go at your own pace' it's a great workout. Tough, but good.

As for the question of doing it at home, I don't knoew if videos exist, but I don't think anyone would push as hard as you do in the actual class.
