I have never registered, but my SIL absolutely loves the boppy pillow and the travel swing (she lives in Boston and comes home to LI often).

Re: Going to Register at Babies R us Tomorrow!

I just registered there on Friday...have fun!!

I took a friend with me who's a mom because I'm totally clueless myself; hence, I don't have my own personal suggestions, but most people I've spoken with consider the Diaper Genie and the wipe warmer thing a waste of time.

Everybody recommended the Britax convertible car seats (as did Baby Bargains book...do you have that?). Also, most of my friends have a Peg Perego stroller, so I got that too, but not the travel system one. Oh yeah, and several people recommended the Bundle Me car seat bunting.

I guess that's my big advice!!

I was totally hung up on some stuff too, like which swing should I get, like that was going to make or break my child for life!!

ETA: I wanted the Eddie Bauer wooden high chair, but it doesn't recline, and evidently that's a feature you want to have...so no Eddie Bauer for me!

Have a great time registering!!! We actually went for the first time on Saturday to Babies R Us just to look around. It was so much fun. I can't wait to go back and register.

They give you an outline of things you are going to need so go by that and you will be fine. It is a lot of fun but it takes a lot of time.

That is so exciting! I loved registering. I spent a lot of time on the BRU website reading through customer reviews. I found that to be VERY helpful. Have fun! Register for what you think you'll need. If you don't use it or like it, save the box and return it for something different after the baby comes.

I have the Peg Perego travel system and I love it. It's so easy to use and it's so easy to pop her in and out of the car and into the stroller.

Bundle me is GREAT!! Especially in the cold weather.

I have the Leap Frog exersaucer (something you wont use until the baby is 4-5 months) but I love mine. Kiera goes wild in it and it is so worth the money.

Hi-Chair we have the Fisher Price aquarium chair. So far I have no complaints. Kiera loves all of the toys on it.

Bouncer-Fisher Price Kick and Play. It was heaven sent for us in the first couple of months. Kiera would play in it, fall asleep in it, it really saved us.

Swing-Fisher Price aquarium. Another thing that I don't know how we would do without in the first couple of months. Plus we used it to feed her in when she was old enough for solids, but not able to sit in the hi-chair yet. She really loves her swing and still goes in it now.

IMO- Things that are a waste of money, wipe warmer, bottle warmer, head rests for sleeping.

We use a sterlizer but some people say it's a waste. I love mine. I have the Avent one and all I do is put the bottles in and microwave it for 4 minutes. It's very easy to use and has saved us a lot of time.

Hope that helps a little.

Amen to the Bundle Me!!!

I love my Baby Bjorn front carrier too! Mallory likes it because she can see everything and she is close to me and my arms aren't hurting!

I also just got a exergen temporal thermometer - awesome!

about the bumbo seat !!!
Is it really that good,
my mom showed me a picture of this in a magazine and I didnt think much of it,
but if you girls are swearing by it, I may need to register for it.
I don't think they have it at babies r us.

Did anyone register at more then one store?
if so do you recommend this and if so where?

thanks again

Re: Going to Register at Babies R us Tomorrow!

I am a brand new mom (less than two weeks) and here is what I've found very useful so far:

- Angelcare monitor --- it monitors for sounds and movement to alert you to a possible SIDS situation. It definitely gives us some peace of mind since we worry so much.

- bassinet --- we use this all the time. It's on wheels so we move it to whatever room we are in.

- Boppy pillow --- great for feeding.

- onesies that snap in the front --- much easier than the ones that you have to pull over their head.

- Diaper Dekor Plus --- very easy to use, no odor and you can use it as a regular garbage pail when you don't need it for diapers anymore. I also like that you don't have to touch the pail to put the diaper in (it has a foot pedal which opens the lid and you just put the diaper in).

We have the Peg Perego Pliko P3 stroller but haven't used it yet. We've been using the Graco Snugride carseat and Universal carrier.

There were a couple things we returned because we didn't like them, even though we registered for them. Whatever you receive, test it out before the baby arrives so you can exchange it if necessary.

Have fun registering!!!
