Re: Golem is home!!! With link to pictures!!!

THANKS everyone! Golem is an amazing dog - his capability to learn just blows my mind sometimes! This weekend I taught him Paw, and that was just Saturday and he's already doing it on command without treats!! We are so proud of him, and it's exciting to see that he's able to respond to us like that also! He is getting BIG, very fast!!! We just weighed him this moring and he's already 14.5 pounds!! He's up to 3 cups of Iams Large Breed puppy food a day now too, and he's getting bigger every day. He has his little monster tornado moments though, especially when we take him out to do his 'hurry ups' (pee/poop code name!)and he wants to grab and tug at his leash instead...... He's VERY persistent too, so when he doesnt 'go' and instead starts bites and growls at the leash, we bring him back in for a few minutes, then he cools down and remembers he had to to to the bathroom again, then we go back out and he does his thing :) It's a lot of back and forth, watching, and positive/negative reinforcement - all expected of puppies this age, but still a lesson in patience!!! He's teething too, so he likes to bite EVERYTHING, and we've also taken on the mother's responsibility of teaching bite inhibition, since he was only 7 1/2 when we brought him home. It's frustrating at times, but it's completely overruled by the sweet quiet time we have with him, when he falls asleep in Mommy's lap, or curls up on the floor with Daddy I miss him when we're not home!! I have to go look at my desktop wallpaper again to see his face now :)
