Golem UPDATED: Vet says he's OK!!

Hi everyone - I know we have a Pets board for this - but I know this board gets a lot more traffic and I just wanted to see if I could get some feel better dust for Golem. He was violently ill this morning and we don't know what is wrong with him. He was fine last night but when I got him out of the crate this morning, he just kept getting sick and all we could do was sit there with him - I couldn't stop crying because we were so helpless and he was in pain. He wouldn't even touch his breakfast either, all he would keep down was water. I'm a mess right now and I'm so worried about him that I can't even think straight. Craig calld the vet after I left for work and they're seeing him at 10:15 - I haven't heard from Craig yet, but he's going to call as soon as they get home from the vet. I feel horrible that I ahve to be here at work right now - I'm so upset I just want to go home and take care of my puppy. Please keep Golem in your thoughts this morning, and I will update as soon as I hear what's going on. thanks so much everyone

Oh no! I'd be so upset too. Bama was sick last week and I couldn't concentrate at work.
Did Golem get a hold of anything last night that he might've eaten? Hopefully that's all it is - something that upset his tummy.

I went thru a similar situation with my sheperd mix, it was cleared up with a little doggy pepcid and an antibiotic.

Did he recently eat anything besides dog food? (I saw your post yesterday that he likes to eat twigs, rawhide)
Sometimes dogs will vomit and act just plain old sick when they ate something that they cannot pass and is stuck in the intestinal tract.

I'm sure the vet will do x-rays and they can see if there is a foreign object.

Please keep us updated, and I'm sending you good doggie vibes.

Hi everyone - thank you all for your support!!!!!

Good news - Craig just called, they are home now and the vet gave Golem a clean bill of health! (He did to to EMAH Sharon ) Our vet said that he might have just eaten too much grass/dirt and he coudn't digest it. So he gave Golem a shot to calm his stomach and sent Craig home with pills to settle his stomach that we'll give him 20 minutes before he eats - starting tonight. He also said to put him on a bland diet for the next two days to see how his stomach does, so Mommy will be cooking boiled rice and chicken for her puppy tonight I'm just so glad nothing is wrong!!! I was driving myself crazy with worry - almost thought I was overreacting a bit because I was so upset!

Craig said as soon as Golem got to the vet and saw all his friends, his little butt started shaking like crazy and he was happy kisses puppy all over the place! He said hi to two new doggies and gave the entire staff kisses I am so glad my little boy is okay now!!!!! thank you all again for understanding and supporting me on a very worrisome morning!! I will tell Golem that all his LIW friends were sending him love! You guys are the best!!

I'm kinda excited about cooking for Golem tonight! Knowing my dog, he will probably like the bland diet better and will want freshly prepared food every night from now on!
