Good advice

the planner gave me which I poste elsewher but bears repeating. Vendors like florists and cake designers are very very visual -- their work is artistic. As a result, when meeting with them the very best thing you can do (like any hairdresser will tell you) is bring pictures of exactly what you like -- tear em out of mags, print off of LIW/NYW, even bring scraps of material to show them colors you like -- it is much more helpful than 'I like red roses -- there are like 40 kinds!)

That is very important when I went to the florist I had endless pics telling here what colors I want what size b-oks I like and everything and I think she got a good idea of exactly what I want. And i will do the same for my hairdresser too.

I still don't know who I am going to get to do my hair?

great point Deb - it seems that when things really go 'wrong' with these vendors - alot of time it is admitted that the person did not give pictures or get really specific about what they wanted.

I have a binder of about 7000 flower and hair pics - I always think they will call me a nut when i walk in with it - but they always appreciate a 'glimpse' inside my thoughts.

I completely agree! You won't get exactly what you want unless you show them what your vision is. I always brought pics with me.
