So here is my dilema - my RH really comfortably holds about 120 people (it can have up to 150 but tables are on the dance floor).
My parents have 65 people on their list of relatives (the majority of which, I have never met)!!! So I have already tried getting them to cut it down, its not working. They SWEAR that 40% of the people aren't going to come. But I am nervous that a few of them might.
So here is my idea: Buy 2 sets of response cards with 2 different RSVP dates. Send the first batch out a little early to extended relatives to see if they are yes or no. The second batch will go to family I know is coming and friends - if enough from the first batch said no, I can invite some friends with guests, and invite more friends/coworkers.
Do you think this will work?
Here is the timeline: Wedding date 2-23-08 Mail first batch middle of November First RSVP date 12-15-07 Mail second batch end of December Last RSVP date 1-26-08

It should work but make sure you follow up with the no responses before you invite the secong batch!!

I think it's a good idea. I plan on doing the same thing. Our parents have a lot of OOT guests, they will have an earlier RSVP date so that we can invite more friends and co-workers depend on what the guests want to do.

Im sending mine early too, to the ones i know wont come and dont really care.... most of them are to appease the fam as well...

you can, it is an idea however, im at fox hollow as well, you can have 13 tables of 12 people without ANY tables being on the dancefloor, that is 156 people in the WGP

FYI i am getting married 2/2 i dont think its a great idea to mail them out before thanksgiving - people get busy and push their mail aside

that is the max it can hold without putting tables on the dance floor talk to your BM - that is what they told me and i was there a few weeks ago - they were setting up for a party in the WGP there were 5 tables on each side and 3 in the middle - none on dancefloor

Yup, that's how they told me it would be done as well. I'm a fox hollow bride but i'm in the Briar Fox room with my CH in the WGP

Arthur who booked us told us the room held 120...maybe he was wrong.
