Good places to take engagment pictures

Hello Ladies,

I know most of you took your E pics already and I was wondering where is a good place. FH and I are planning to take E-pics next weekend but we dont know where. Any suggestions?

i took mine in brooklyn (dumbo)..below the bridge..i loved how it photographed

I live in queens he lives in the city. We got to LI so any location is good for us.

I like unique places, I was thinking a museum but i dont think we can use flash...so its back to the drawing board LOL

We want to take them too... I would've loved to take them at Jones beach, but it's too cold now! A lot of places are decorated nice for the holidays. Maybe Westbury gardens or Condre Hall

Astoria Park offers some great views as do any of the botanical gardens (in queens or bronx)

i'm going to wait to take my pictures until spring and i think we're going to the planting fields arboretum

I actually saw a picture that was really cool and they took them in DUMBO too...

FH's mom wants us to take pictures ASAP so she can make engagment announcements (we've been engaged since May LOL)

Do you know if you need permits to take pictures in DUMBO or any park?

yes! unfortunately the park that is right there you do..but we snuck in! usually they don't make a big deal out of having a permit, but we took them on a day that something big was going on there and security was increased..the areas around the parks (the promenade for instance) you don't need a permit
