John's Pizza on 44th. Not actually a real pizzeria, but a beautiful sit-down restaurant---used to be a church! They have great food at reasonable prices. And location and atmosphere can't be beat.

There is a nice italian place on the corner of my block that my family has been going to for years, and they are excellent.
Its called 44th SW and its on the corner of 44th st and 9th avenue.

Yes! But I'm telling you...It's really nice! And crowds at a restaurant to me are an indication of the quality of food!

I second this!! The food is excellent. I forgot about this place, and I live about 20 feet from here! Can you tell I have explored my neighborhood thoroughly?

On restaurant row:
Joe Allen- famous pre-theater American Cuisine
Becco- this is Lidia's restaurant- they have a VERY affordable pre-fix dinner that's 3 homemade pastas, an appetizer and dessert.... really Great.
on 45th- Frankie & Johnnie's steakhouse- just went there b/f we saw 'Night Mother... a little pricey- about $50/pp
