what happened was..flaca and i had an idea. with the help of LP and some others it became a reality. i have not been posting because rl has kept me busy. i still answered every fm. now, someone has stepped in as 'coordinator' and totally changed the idea. i do not respect people who step on my toes. that is why i am leaving. i am only posting this b/c oct2004 told me to read the thread.

its weird- like we need closure but seems like this is just one incident with one particular person...unless you feel slighted by all of us who answered the thread to the supposed new 'coordinator'

it was never intended to hurt anyone- that much i know

this is really sad ... as far as I know it was told that one person could not handle it no more because of work and it was understood that it was to help out the original COORDINATORS
and since there are some girls that were NOT
involved in that list. I offered for the none SS girls to send me a FM so theri names can be added and if only if they wanted to bring a little gift to be placed in a basket so we can give that out to the girls that did not have a SS. That is all,no one stepped in any one's toes. It was a matter of just helping out so who ever is interested to come to th GTG/ SS
would not feel left out.

I'm not sure what happened, but maybe Emily misread the SS thread. The only thing I can think is when she saw this: 'If you would like to come to the GTG and be part of the new basket Secret Santa...please post below and write next to your name...'Basket Secret Santa' and the coordinator for this...Junie20002 will contact you!', she read it as Junie being the new coordinator for the whole thing instead of the coordinator for just the Basket SS??? I tried FM'ing her but haven't gotten a response. I hope she reconsiders because I think this was all just a misunderstanding

I will figure out the list as soon as I speak to her. I vote to keep things the way they are. Not for nothing...I worked hard to settle my side of the names and get out the Secret Santa's. So, I honestly don't want it to all mean nothing now that Emily stepped down. What about the work I did?

Girls, I don't want to offend by putting my 2 cents in, but I think what matters more than whether or not she SHOULD be offended is that she IS offended. I think it is really sad that she is so offended that she left . . . (or wants to.)

Bri- i totally agree that it doesnt matter how people Should feel, but how they Do feel. However, i think the problem here is that- people arent saying that Emily Shouldnt feel the way she does, but no one really understands WHY she feels that way. Emily, if youre reading this- sorry if it seems as if were having this whole discussion about you w/o your input, but i think most of us are in the dark as to why you feel like you want to leave.

Emily and Flaca took a ridiculous amount of time out of their lives to set up the SS and FM everyone on the list with their person. i don't think that there is one person on this board that doesnt appreciate that. Donna was kind enough to offer up her house, but plans had to change (for great reasons!! ). Since Emily has not been able to be around as much, AND also for the fact that the burden of planning a GTG for over 30 women should not fall upon the shoulders of only One person- LP stepped up to the plate and started a thread for other suggestions that we could possibly have the GTG.

When it was decided that the gtg was originally going to be at Dooodles house, we capped how many people could attend, as space was limited. Now that we were moving it to a restaurant/ buffet that had much more room, it worked out perfect that the GTG could now be open to Everyone (as it should be--- no 05er should feel left out, espcially given that there were no space limitations anymore). Then there was a suggestion for the new girls that would be attending the SS that they would do a grab basket (not have specific names, NOR change any of the original work that had been done!!!), but this way no one would leave empty handed. It was all meant w/ best intentions for spreading the holiday spirit.

No one tried to take credit for anything, to change the original SS names, or throw that out the window, OR in ANY way to offend anyone. It made sense that since more people could now go, there could be an additional way for those new people to also feel just as involved.

Emily, i hope you read this and reconsider leaving. Maybe it seemed different on the other threads that people were trying to change the original SS or whatever, but all anyone was doing was adjusting to the changes that needed to be made.

i hope this somewhat helps to clear things up
