Gospel Choir

FH and I attend the same church and we have an AMAZING CHOIR! The only problem is that it's like over 200 members,I'm guessing. I know everyone from my church will try to come FH said that its nothing we can do about everyone coming! And my guest list is going to be at an outstanding number. Now I'm starting to regret being known in our church. Membership is about 4500ppl.

My question is do we have to invite the choir to the reception??

If it were just a few people in the choir i would say yes. But that is just waaaay too many.

See!! Thats what I said and I do not want to offend anyone! And we arent paying them either!

My guest list will be up at 400+ if I invite them

What is a girl to do?

yeah thats just too many to invite. There are many people who have that many guests, actually I will be close to 400 so not saying its bad to have that many guests. BUt for 200 of the guests to be people from your choir and you're not even sure if you should invite them or not is a bit much. I am sure they will completely understand and really wont expect for you to invite them all. If anything invite just a few people that you are very close to.

I think the choir is a wonderful idea to come and sing at the wedding.
I am very popular at my church also b/c I'm the pastors sister, I am opening the wedding to everyone at the church but not the reception. I think I am inviting 10 people from my church. Now ,we have a membership of about 300 to your 4500 that's a big diffrence. So yes i would open the wedding to everyone but not the reception.

Well I was upset at first having an open wedding but then I changed my mind and was like ok!

How am I going to tell ppl that only ppl invited to the reception can come??

Re: Gospel Choir

Believe or not, some people are really understanding and know that receptions are very, very expensive. They know that you can't invite everyone especially if you have a big family like me. You really can't worry about people and their feelings this is FHand your day and that is who you need to be worried about, beause at the end of the night it's going to be about you and FH no one else. You two need to sit down and you make your guset list of family first, close friends, and so on and take it from there. then you all have a back up list so if some one can't come then you will add from list # 2.

If he really, really can't sing then NO. But if this is something he really, really want to do then let him get some voice lessons. He still have time. I think that is so romatic.

I think the choir would be great at your ceremony. They should be uinderstanding if your budget will not allow you to invite them.
