Got airline tickets to aruba through 1-800 # America Airlines they faxed me pieces of paper that they say are...
the actual tickets??? Is this how they give out tickets these days? I have to bring these papers to the airport and this is what will get me on the plane. I think I'm going to call them back and confirm i think that's weird.

its an e-ticket which means its an electronic ticket.
Jetblue does this as well. You print out your ticket and it has a confirmation number you bring with you. When you go to check in, you will receive your boarding pass.
