Got marriage license, and bought rings today!
Whew, what a day! Not only did I go back to work for the first time in a week--had a medical procedure last week--I also came home, met up with my FH, and went to Islip Town Hall to get our marriage license. When we pulled up, there was a young couple in front of the building, looking where to go, and I thought, 'bet they're getting a marriage license too.' And they were. There were about five couples there! It was quite easy, but then we had all our documents: drivers' licenses, birth certificates, and FH's divorce decree. (Yes, this is his second marriage, my first.) Then we went shopping, I made a lovely spaghetti dinner, we watched a movie, and then we ordered our wedding bands from E-Weddingbands.com. We both wanted plain bands, and they have great prices and good reviews. So that's done! I just hope they realize we're having the same thing engraved in both... The first ring is his, a platinum band with a titanium inlay, and the second is mine, a plain platinum band. I had thought about getting a thicker band with a squared-off edge, but I like the way the traditional band fits snugly with my engagement ring.
