Went to Bridal Suite in Bay Shore yesterday afternoon. Brought my entire bridal party and my mom so we could look for BM dresses too. It was hard to choose a dress because Bridal Suite of Bay Shore has a great selection of dresses including larger sized samples! I finally chose this dress but without the jacket. I am getting a shawl instead.
The picture doesn't do it justice. It really glimmers when the light catches it. I never thought I'd go for a strapless dress but the way the waist is draped really give my figure a slimming effect (which I need).
I did have a bit of buyers remorse last night though. This wasn't the first dresss I tried on but the first one that made me smile when I saw myself. But when I got home last night I started freaking out, feeling like I should have gone to more places (I went to 4 shops total). And then I thought I should have haggled on the price a bit more. (I got only $25.00 knocked off). Its so hard now...I can't look at another bride's magazine in fear I will see something else I like and then start hating the dress I bought. It stinks you have to buy your dress so far in advance. I wish the wedding was like a month away so I wouldn't have to worry or second-guess myself. UGH!!!

January 3, 2004....When I tried the dress on, one of my bridesmaids said that the sparkles reminded her of snow so I thought the dress would be fitting for a winter wedding.

The dress is GORGEOUS Don't second guess yourself, there are so many beautiful dresses, you'll always see another one that's gorgeous also. The difference is how you FEEL in the dress, and that you feel gorgeous in it.

That style is very slimming! I know how you feel with the buyers remorse. I tried on a gazillion dresses in many stores and the only one that made me smile at myself in the mirror was nothing like any of the dresses I tore out of magazines. Mine has spaghetti straps!! I NEVER EVER thought I would like that. But I just keep thinking that I felt beautiful in the dress, so that must mean something. Go with your gut feeling. The dress is beautiful and if you feel beautiful in it - that's all that counts.
