Got my first wedding gift in the mail today! A friend sent two full place settings of our selected fine china!!!!
My wedding isn't until October... I would ideally like to wait to use our own personal thank you notes that we got made. Do you think that's ok to wait 2.5 months before sending a thank you only because I want to use new stationery? Is that lame?
What do you guys do when you receive gifts months before the wedding?
The invites haven't even been mailed out and we're getting gifts!!

I wouldn't wait to send a thank you. Its just nice to send a little thank you note sooner than later.

Congrats! You technically have a year to send out thank yous for wedding gifts. If you want you could send a simple thank you now and then send a second card later when your new stationary is printed up.

yay, that is so exciting!!!
I used leftover shower thank yous for the earliest wedding gifts we received. we then went ahead and ordered thank yous that match our invites (pix in my album) and have commenced using those.
I'm pretty sure those will just be our thank yous both before and after the wedding (i don't really want to wait for photo thank yous for a number of reasons) but either way, it's great to have them now.
