Got our first registry gift!

Very exciting! Not a wedding gift, but an engagement gift--not that we had an engagement party, so it's doubly sweet of them. From a couple that I've been friends with for years. It's an apron I had put on the registry because I thought it would be cute for both of us, for my FH while at the BBQ or for me while baking. It's just a small present, but they're expecting their first baby pretty much any second, so they shouldn't have done it at all, it was incredibly sweet of them. And they put in the nicest note. I read somewhere that once you get engaged every bride should get some Thank You notecards, but I didn't. Should have! Now I have to get some today.

It's funny, I'm having fun planning the wedding, and I'm going to love having everyone I care about as guests, but the whole gift thing is odd to me. I know people are going to give us gifts, but I feel embarassed about accepting them from friends and family members. OTOH, I've given out plenty in wedding gifts myself over many years...

You know, this wedding thing is getting to be a lot of fun!

Getting gifts is so much fun - It makes you really feel like you are officially getting married.
