My Ex used to get pulled over for that ALL the time... the tints were too dark. He always got a ticket and would try to fight it in court. But then again, he was a young kid driving flashy cars (thanks to Mommy & Daddy) so he was constantly getting pulled over and getting tickets.

Honestly, cop was probably being a b*llbuster!!! I used to get pulled over for that all the time but I was also younger and crusing the pike or Francis lewis. They really dont pull anyone over for that anymore unless its really dark. My FH is a cop so I ask about these things.
If you ever get a ticket for that, just pay it. Its an equipment ticket and does not go on your record. Its better than getting the tints removed because I wouldnt remove mine!

I got a ticket once...When I was 18 years old...I was driving my 83 honda accord with 5% limo tint to work on a saturday morning...and I got pulled over for speeding. The cop also says to me, you know your windows are illegal...So I played dumb and was like no I didnt know that...So he proceeded to put a mettter on my window to measure the darkness....and since the tint was a year old...it was rated at 12%...So I got a ticket for it...He told me either take it off or pay the $110 ticket....The tint wasnt on my rear window or my windshile, only my side windows.

I went to work and removed the tint with WD40, and a razor blade...what a nightmare getting the glue off....

I then went to the police station and had them sign the ticket.....So I didnt get to pay

I didn't think people got pulled over for that anymore.
