I never got one ounce of paperwork concerning my delivery (which was a c/s). Nothing. I also never paid one dime. Nothing! Makes me wonder how much it was. Thankfully, I had awesome insurance, so like I said, I never saw a single piece of paper nor paid one dime.

for those of you who got bills, how long after the delivery or C/S did you get your bill?
Re: Got the hospital bill for my C-section...
It took almost 2 months for me to get the bill, and all it said was how much the insurance covered and how much I owed, it wasn't itemized or anything - the bill from my son was.

Ours was close to $100,000. I was on bed rest for 4 weeks in the hospital and my daughter who was born 6 weeks early and weighed only 3lbs 1.8 ounces stayed for almost a month. I had a vaginal delivery and my daughter even though she was small didn't have any complications. She needed to gain weight (4lbs or more to go home), learn to eat on her own and maintain her temperature, hence her stay in the hospital. We received the itemized bill from the hospital and a seperate bill for the Drs. It probably would have been more if we went to a private hospital. I gave birth at John Dempsey Hospital (They have one of the best Level 3 NICU facility) aka UConn Health Center.
