I can't wait for your review!!

Try googling 'MOH speeches' and read a fwe. This might give you some ideas and help you start! I think once you get going, it will all just flow!!

I've had to give 2 speeches and winged it both times. It's hard to try to write something up. You'll be fine. Make sure you think of funny examples about stuff you did!

When in doubt Google it out!!!!!!!!!hahah
just kidding., Its hard I know., Look up Maid of Honor speeches and maybe you can get some ideas of how to compose the speech.

When I was moh I threw in when the groom and bride first met., how they met., cute things the bride used to tell me about him when they met., and things that I went thru with the bride., tied it together some how!

my brother gave a best man speech that was actually a game for the bride and groom. it took the pressure off him and everyone LOVED it!! he had guests coming up to him for the rest of the night telling him what a great speech it was.

if you are interested, here is the basic idea:

you have the bride and groom stand on the dance floor, back to back. they take off both of their shoes. they both exchange one shoe, so that they are each holding one bride shoe and one groom shoe.

you tell them that you are going to ask a series of questions. if their answer is 'the bride', they hold up her shoe. if their answer is 'the groom', they hold up his shoe.

you ask cute questions about their relationship, like who chased the other (they will hold up the same shoe), who made the first move (they MAY hold up the same shoe), who is a better kisser (they will probably both hold up their own shoe), etc etc...and in the end, you ask them something really cute and sentimental, something like who will love the other forever and ever (the point of the last question is to get them to hold up both shoes). and then you have them turn to see they are holding up both shoes and they kiss.

it's really cute, the audience (and the bride and groom) laugh and get emotional, and it was the best speech i've ever seen...plus my brother was so much less nervous doing it b/c all eyes were on them instead of him.

you can make it quick by not asking too many q's or longer by asking more.

anyway, just an idea...good luck, whatever you decide on...i am sure you will be fine!!

I went to a wedding Saturday and the best man's toast was 'may your ups and downs only be under the sheets'.....

my advice: don't say that!

good luck! speak for your heart!

Hmm

well this is what i would do:

time yourself and make sure it is under 5 minutes - sometimes people dont realize how long the speech is

start off with one funny story about the two of them

then one sweet story

and then congratulate them and wish them happiness etc.

i am basing this on my favorite speech - my brother's speech for my cousin (they grew up as brothers)

the first time my cousin in law came over our house - she sat and talked to our grandma ( who doesnt speak english) so everyone assumed she was the new nurse so we all politely said hello and continued on to find other people in the house. . .LOL my cousin in law thought we were so rude bc we didnt even introduce ourselves!
so everyone laughed at that

then he told a mushy story about how they made a pact to never marry but how he is glad that my cousin decided to break the pact for a girl that was worth it

then he said a short toast in italian, translated it to english and that's it!

that was in 2004 and i still remember it bc i thought it was so nice! good luck!
