Gown

So I think I found 'the one'... the wedding is Sept 05... when should I order? I think I might try on some more this weekend just to be positive (but nothing compares so far)! It is a Demetrios gown but is not the the website so no pic! So the question... when did you order and how long did it take to come in?

I haven't gone yet but I heard you should order your dress ABOUT a year in advance...

I ordered my dress in late October 03... it came in early June 04. My wedding is in September, and I already had my first fitting.

i ordered mine about a year in advance.....
if you have a lot of time, you might as well try on other gowns to see if you like anything else...if, after doing that a few times, you don't find anything - i'd say order the one you love. if it comes in too ealry, they can store it for you until your fittings!

I'd say it's better to order sooner than later. I waited a little bit to order mine because I wanted to lose a few pounds. Your bridal salon should be able to tell you how long they expect it to take for the dress to come in based on the designer. I ordered mine in June and it came in in January. Once I found 'the dress' I made myself stop looking at other dresses so I wouldn't second guess myself.

If you feel deep down that it is the one, then I would say get it! My dress takes up to 8 months to come in and then there are the fittings and alterations.

I would try on a few more-make sure it is the one and then order it. It is better to give yourself more time just in case of problems

Like people say (including myself) you know when it's THE ONE. You won't be able to try on any other dresses because you keep thinking of that one. You can try on some more but if you're going to order I would attempt to order a year in advance or 11 months. I ordered mine in November 03 for an October 04 wedding and it came in March. GL

I recommend waiting until at least September to order your gown. I've seen it happen on here many times. Brides order their gowns over a year in advance and they end up changing their minds & their gowns. I ordered mine in February and it came in July so it took about 5 months. You should give yourself at least 8 - 9 months.

I found it at the Commack Wedding Center. It is a Demetrios style 1722. I have looked everywhere for the pic... and found nothing. At first I freaked out thinking it might have been discontinued, so I called the designer. They said that they don't put them all on the website. The wedding center wouldn't let me take a picture unless I bought it first! Oh well I am going again this weekend... If anyone finds a picture please FM me too!

I was told by several places that 6 months prior to the wedding is the absolute latest you should consider ordering your gown. Any later and you run the possibility of incurring rush charges.

Try on more dresses this weekend. If you're then positive you've found THE dress, there's no reason to wait to order.

I just put a deposit on mine last thurs. They told me it could take 3-5 months to come in, but it could be before three months too. They just said 3-5 just incase. My wedding is 9-10-05
