WELL I WENT TO TRY ON GOWNS FOR THE 1ST TIME AND IT WAS NOT THE BEST EXPERENCE. NOTHING LOOKED RIGHT AT ALL AND ALL OF THE GOWNS WERE WAY TO SMALL SO IT LOOKED FUNNY ON AND THE WOMEN AT THE STORE KEPT THROWING ME ALL THEESE GOWNS THAT I DID NOT LIKE AND SAID JUST TRY IT. I'M JUST REALLY AFRAID OF NOT FINDING THE GOWN I LOVE. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THAT PROBLEM??? WHERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO TRY?

I had a horrible time with the first place I went to. I was so distraught that I didn't want to go on. Keep your chin up! I had a wonderful experience at Bridal Suite in Centereach and Paradise Bridal in Patchogue.

You will have a good experience somewhere else. The first two places I went to were awful and the third place I just loved and ended up getting my dress there (it is in NC). You will find 'the one', don't worry!!!
Some people find it the first time around and some people it takes time. Usually if you have a bad experience the first time.. the rest is cake! Don't worry.. you WILL find something! Promise!

i had the best trying on experienced at Paradise bridal in patchogue and fantasia in rocky point... however, paradise turned into a nightmere once i ordered my dress...

That's how you find 'THE' gown... you have to eliminate all of the wrong ones and you don't know that they're the wrong ones until you try it. Also, I hate hate HATE pushy salespeople, however, try on everything, even if it's so not you.... you never know. I tried on a dress that was the complete opposite of anything I typically liked.... it was my favorite one and I will probably go back to buy it after I try all of the wrong dresses on (because after this one dress, i don't think there is any other 'right' dress out there for me) Good luck!

I'm sorry you had a miserable time...but part of their behavior is explained away by the simple fact that things look different on the hanger and on the person. Many girls walk away with their gown and say 'I NEVER would've thought to try that style/material/color on...but she insisted, and it was THE ONE.'
Hopefully the next place is a better experience.

Sorry, you had a bad experience. Please give Bridal Suite in Bay shore a try! I had a great experience there.....and They had a lot of dresses in many sizes. Please ask for Cynthia.....she was wonderful and she brought many styles out that would look on my shape.

dont' worry - you'll find it! I went to two bridal stores before going to Fantasia in Rocky Point. Alicia is great....she listened to what i thought I'd like and made some suggestions along the way.
There was one dress she asked me to try on.. I did NOT like it on the hanger....she said, 'humor me.'
it was THE ONE!
So...put your fut down if someone is being pushy at a bridal salon - like if you have a dress on and say you don't like somethign about it and she tries to change your mind...........but try to be open to suggestions if you feel the person is genuinely trying to find the right dress for you.

Just keep looking and don't give up! You'll find the dress of your dreams eventually. Just try not to pay too much attention to the the size whether it be too big or too small because the dresses are only samples and when you're dress comes in it will fit you properly and make you look fantastic! I haven't started looking for my dress yet but I'm already psyching myself up and tellling myself that it's just a sample. Not everyone is made to fit into it. (In my case I know they are just not going be able to zip the dresses up).
Give yourself time and have patience. You will find it!
