Re: gown help please

That was exactly what happened to me!!... I ended up splurging & buying the more expensive dress b/c I was truly in love with the dress-- it was the only one that made me feel like a bride. So in order to afford it I am cutting from other things (i.e.-- no videographer)

I haven't even tried it on yet, I'm in love with the picture. Who knows, it may look like crap! I kind of hope it does so I feel better about not being able to afford it!!

Well, from my gown searches-- I discovered you never know what a dress will look like until you try it on. you'll be suprised what looks bad and what ends up looking great.
Stay open minded & you'll find the right one!
Good luck!

Wow, that looks beautiful-- who is the designer?

Re: gown help please - PIC is up!

It's Renella De Fina Couture The designer is from Canada. A bridal salon here in NJ where I live is getting the dress in next week.
Should I bother to go and try it on??? I'm so tempted to...........

Only if you think there is a chance you can get it.
Otherwise you'll be taking a chance of falling in love & breaking your heart.

I would look around at less expensive dresses & only if you can't find anything you like, then go and splerge!

Re: gown help please - PIC is up!

hm well, we already booked the video, photography, band and florist, so at this point there's not much I can cut back on in order to pay for this dress.....

I just keep telling myself it's nuts to spend that much on a dress you wear for one day, even if it is your wedding day

i fell in love with a renella de fina and it was $7000!!!!!!!!!!
luckily when i tried it on i hated it! as a daughter of a seamstress i can tell when something is a high quality fabric and honestly i didnt think it was worth $7000 - my dress was all lace though

as for that dress - it is beautiful but it is also simple ( and elegant!) so i think it would be easy to get a much cheaper dress and just add a sash if you need to!

good luck!

The JCrew one is very similar. The cut is a little different, but it has the same idea... Its very pretty. Is there a way to try that on?

Bring the pic of the one you like to a bridal salon & see if they have anything similar.
Maybe you can find something similar that you will love.

THANKS! It is similar... I wonder if I could have embellishment sewn on for a reasonable cost... that might be too much headache though.. ?

The dress is beautiful. Have you considered going to RK Bridal in NYC. They have dresses ranging from $400-$3000. Check them out.

I have seen something similar. It did not have the design on the bottom and it was being sold as a bride's maid dress but you might want to check it out. The website is billlevkoff.com and the dress style number is 966. Be sure to click on the additional views to see the back. That is the best part. Good Luck!

That is a beautiful dress, but I would be the same way. I would not spend that much, but that's just me. I have a million things I could spend that money on and I did find something gorgeous for under $1000. I wouldn't even try things on that are out of my price range, but that's really up to you. If you can't get it out of your head after trying other dresses on, then maybe you should try it.

Check the price with Burton's, or Phyllis at gownfind, if they can get that designer?
