Gown not coming in til JULY?!?!?!

They're kidding me right? Lillette's usually sends a postcard to let you know your gown is in. Well, rebzarella (Becky) who happens to my dress AND date twin, got hers in already. Granted, she did tell them her wedding date was two weeks prior. BUT...she received her gown well over a month ago!

So I call them today- and their confirmation says that they expect it in JULY!! WHAT?! People, my friggin wedding is AUGUST 4TH!!!

What scares me the most is, I'm going to be in Virginia from July 17-27. Yes I am out of my friggin' head.

Please tell me this is nothing to freak out about. What scares me is, what if the dress comes in and there's something wrong with it and they'd have to have it sent back or reordered or something?

I know, I can't freak out yet. And the girl said lots of times it comes in sooner. She also said she'd check on it and see if they can get it in earlier. I have a hard time believing they'll do that.

oh by the way- invites went out today! BUT they wouldn't let me hand cancel! The guy said my invites should be fine though- they're not too bulky. Ugh I hope so.

you poor thing!! i would be upset too... but you're right, there is no point in freaking out, especially if they said that they would try to get it in earlier and there's nothing more you can really do. i am sure everything will be fine!

If it makes you feel any better, my dress didn't come in until April and the wedding was this weekend. I ended up only needing 2 fittings and everything worked out fine. I'll keep my fingers crossed that yours arrives early and is perfect.

And congrats on getting the invites out! I'm sure they'll be fine and arrive to your guests safely, even without hand canceling.

OMG!!!! Tara I would be upset too if I were you!!! Have you stressed to them that you will be away for most of July (get dramatic if need be lol)....I would totally use this as my 'bridezilla' justifiable moment!!! Did rebzarella order her dress before you? Although I'm sure everything will work out, there's no need to put you in such a panic like this!!

OMG! When did they tell you it was supposed to come in when you ordered it? You definitley don't need to stress out about this right now.......... ugh!

Well, if it does come in around the time they say, then you will still have time for alterations. But hopefully it comes in sooner so you don't have to worry about rushing around before you leave the last week of July.............

They told me when I ordered that they always shoot for gowns to come in 2 months before your wedding. July is certainly not too months.

Helen, I totally should have gone Bridezilla on them! I just don't have it in me!! I guess I'll call them again on Thurs (they're closed Wed) and see what I can do. The girl was very nice and I didn't want to be difficult. I'm not a very good bridezilla am I?

Don't worry about not hand canceling your invitations...I threw mine in to a good ol' USPS mailbox and they arrived safely to all...

About the dress, you probably can't help but freak out, so no one will hold it against you if you do. If you think about it, July is really only next month...Dis they say early July or late? It makes a difference. I hope it all works out!!

They said early July...but did say sometimes they come in earlier. UGH that better mean SOON!!

With Bridal Elegance, they had told me certain dresses were coming in on a certain date and they were always earlier...so I guess I just have to

I would be upset too, you have every right to be! I would prob just flip out on the place! That isn't right, your wedding is in Aug and your not getting your dress till July? that is rediculous. I would make sure it came in earlier.

I would be upset tooo - don't panic ~ but it seems like you might be scrambling around to do any kind of alterations if needed ~ did they say why are you receiving it so close to your wedding date ~ that is insane...

I know the feeling. I'm 7 weeks away and my dress is still NOT in!! It was allegedly shipped today.
These things always work out in the end. It's just very very stressful!!

Yeah I guess I better hound them....this has been my fear for so long, especially since I'm in VA for 2 weeks. I even mentioned it to them- what the hell do they care?

I completely feel for you. I got a call from Lilette's today that the dress I thought was ordered in January was not ordered yet!!! And I am freaking out! What brand dress did you order and when did you order it??

I'm sure it will all work out for both of us, but I am soooooo stressed out right now too!!!

WHAT?! I can't believe they did that to you!!! I'm so sorry!

I ordered a Maggie Sottero....way back in October. I just don't get this. I bet you they sit on the order so that it comes in 'right on time' and not early- yeah right that works!!!

wow, i can't believe all the dress drama going on here! my dress isn't supposed to be in until the VERY end of july, IF THAT, even though i ordered it 9/10/06 for my 9/9/07 wedding! i'm freaking out already with the same thoughts; what if there's something wrong with it, what if it's the wrong color (because i have this sinking feeling they ordered it in white, even though they SWORE they ordered ivory. . .) but i just keep trying to tell myself that everything will work out in the end. i hope it does for you guys too!!!

That's my secret fear too!!!

Take a deep breath It will all work out. I would just call and explain the situation and let them know how close this is cutting it. They may beable to be more flexabile w/alterations if they realize you will be gone and that you don't have much time It WILL work out

Ugh Tara that is REALLY annoying! I'd be freaking out too. I know you'll be gone a few weeks in July too. Not what you needed to hear from them right now. Just relax (easier said than done!!) and you know it'll be here soon. They have to rush (and hopefully altered correctly) in order for you to be done on time.

As for the invites, CONGRATS!!! And for the hand canceling, don't sweat it... I didn't do it either and they were perfect.
