When you ordered your gown did you give your real wedding date? My mom was talking to people and apparently you are supposed to give a date earlier than your real one in case they don't order on time? I've never heard of this!! I'm getting my dress from Kleinfeld and they say it will come in 3 months before. Should I worry about it?

Re: Gown ordering question...
I wouldn't worry with Kleinfeld's. Are you sure they said the dress will be in 3 months before? I also ordered mine from Kleinfeld Bridal.... I'm getting married in November and was told my dress should be in 8 weeks prior to the wedding date..... I'm anxiously waiting for the call!!!

Re: Gown ordering question...
I gave my real date, but I also requested a 'rush' delivery. Rush meaning it's supposed to come in a month earlier than normal. The only thing is we have to pay the balance off when the dress arrives, instead of at the fittings.

Actually, I think you're right! I think I WISH it were three months rather than 8 weeks! It seems like so little time to me now that I think about it!

I know, right! Especially since all of my girls' bridesmaids' gowns came in months ago..I'm like what the hey! I guess that's how they do it. They've been around for years so I'm not worried...and like you...VERY ANXIOUS!!!

Did you order your gown from Kleinfeld's also? I didn't order with a rush and it's in the contract that the balance of the gown must be paid within 10 days of the gown's arrival -- regardless of when the fitting is scheduled.

Re: Gown ordering question...
I said my wedding was 2 weeks before my actual date. But I also plan on taking mine somewhere else for alterations.

Re: Gown ordering question...
I heard this too, so I said mine was 2 weeks earlier...it didn't matter much because it came in 3 mos before my wedding date (from Macy's).

Re: Gown ordering question...
I ordered mine and gave my real date. The salon (Priscilla of Boston) said they generally get the dresses in for each bride anywhere b/t 4 and 6 months. Last I talked to my consultant, she said they should be getting it in around November for my May wedding....yay!
