Re: gown preservation
I went back to the place where I bought my gown.
They had a coupon and to preserve the dress, veil and headpiece was $225 plus tax.
That was at Helen's Bridal in Commack. I may still have the coupon you can FM your email address.
It was good through 12/31 I think.

Re: gown preservation
Mine is hanging in my spare room bc the place that The Wedding Salon of Manhasset recommended wants $1000 to clean and preserve my gown and there's no way I'm paying that to put my gown in a box.
My mom also turned it inside out and put it in the washing machine with woollite, and hung it to dry. My dress looks better than the day I wore it. Not one piece of beading or anything came off.

I am not brave enough to do that!

My beloved local dry cleaners in Great Neck. She's great and is doing it for $150-$200. Kleinfelds wanted like $600+!

Re: gown preservation
I got married in Sept., let it sit in a ball in a corner and brought it in just a few weeks ago.

I got married 11/7 and took it in 11/27.
Although I wished I have waited because I wanted to consider a day after shoot after picking up my pro pics...

Re: gown preservation
The designer of my dress recommended Orange Restoration Labs in CT. I think the cost was about $350 for my dress and veil.

Re: gown preservation
I got mine preserved at a cleaners by my mom's house. It was 250 which was higher than the norm (100-150) but they said that since my dress was larger than most they needed to order a bigger box and they also said they had to take extra precautions b/c I had an expensive designer dress with such detail?? Not sure how legit that excuse was but they did a great job anyway. The box has a window which allows me to peak at my dress every now and then!
