I bought my gown from a store in NY and will be having alterations done there as well. I'm concerned that it may get a bit wrinkled on the drive back to LI - did anyone else have this problem? Did you take your gown somewhere for pressing, or do it yourself????...

I think if you hang it up in a doorway or something with a sheet covering any wrinkles you may get on the drive will sort of hang out.
I did need my gown pressed a bit between pictures and the ceremony which my sister ironed on a silk setting with a regular iron and it worked out fine.
