Gown shopping- are 4 ppl too many to tag along?

Going gown shopping for the first time...bringing my mom, my sis, my MOH, and FSIL...is my entourage too large??? lol...I don't want to annoy anyone in the store. What do you girls think?

I only brought my mom...I think the less opinions, the better. My mom knew to look for my reaction before she stated her opinion, but I could trust her to tell me if I looked terrible in something.

People don't always realize that dress shopping is not about them...I watched too much Say Yes to the Dress not to take only my mom haha...too many nightmares on that show of girls LOVING a dress and their entourage sh!tting all over it.

i think 1 or 2 people is a good amount but more than that gets tough. Too many opinions will make you crazy and it also is tough for the bridal consultants and other customers if you come with an entourage...JMO!

I haven't brought more than two people at a time with me while dress shopping - always my mom and either my grandma, MOH or one of my BMs. I feel if you take too many people it's just too many opinions flying at you at once and can get you confused.

Once I do make my absolute final decision on my dress I am going to coordinate a day where my Mom, Grandmas, BMs and FMIL can all come with me to the bridal salon so I can show them the dress before placing an order.

I brought my godmother, grandmother, moh and bridesmaid.... At first I was really nervous that people would get mad or feel that I had too many people with me, but when I ended up finding the dress I wanted, I was really happy that everyone was with me.

Normaly I would say that is a lot but you are going during the week and I am sure that there will not be a lot of people during that time.

I personally would taken all the important people after you find the one. That is what I did I was pretty sure when I was with my daughter and FSD but then brought my mom and then ordered

So far I have either gone by myself or with my BM who knows my style and my personality. 4 people is a good amount, anymore than that you get a mix of too many opinions. When I finally pick the dress, I'll coordinator he whole crew and let them cry along with me! ha

I think 1 or 2 is best. I never went more than that, and I went a lot! Too many opinions, too confusing. Then the attendants get confused, it can turn fun into chaos. I was in a bridal salon trying on dresses w my mom and moh and there was another bride there with at least 3 people with her and she fell inlove with the first dress she tried on so then the whole family was calling other family members to come and see her in this dress and it got REALLY annoying!! Uncles, grandparents, all came to see this girl in this dress she tried on. I thought it was completely innapropriate and she could have taken pics or brought them back another time.

I only brought my mom. I personally think 4 is too many..You are going to get too many different opinions and the decision will be even tougher.

I had 3, my mom and my two older sisters. I couldn't imagine NOT having them there with me. It also helps that they are all VERY honest, and won't sugarcoat things just to make me happy. I wanted REAL opinions, not people just to say that every gown looked great.

What's interesting about bringing a few people with differing opinions is that when it's 'the one,' EVERYONE agrees For example, my mom thought I should've had less detail, and one of my sisters wanted me to get a mermaid. But when I walked out in my gown, we all knew that was the one for me.

Re: Gown shopping- are 4 ppl too many to tag along?

when i first when dress shopping, I brought about 4-5 people with me...and it was OK...mainly bc it was the first 2 times i ever shopped...

to be honest, in the end I went dressing shopping ALONE! i went to 3 places by myself and it was the BEST decision I ever made

I realized that all these people were forcing their ideas and opinions on me...i even 'said yes' TWICE to 2 different dresses bc my family/friends made me feel like it was the one

so my opinion is...def go the first or 2nd time with some friends...cause its def nice to have them there for the experience

but when you're ready to really buy...go ALONE! and then take mom back to purchase it with you

it really made a HUGE difference for me when i went alone...i could breathe, enjoy the dresses and not worry about being disappointed or swayed to like a dress

i dont think 4 is too many, but it really depends on your taste. if you think that you truly value all 4 opinions, then bring them, but if you feel that it might bring on more of a headache than uselfullness, then i say, lessen the amt.

I had like 143758 girls with me, but then again I'm the first to get married and they're all VERY excited. It didn't bother me in the least, though I did relish the few times I went dress shopping alone or just with my mom.

I went with my mom and one of my sisters for the 'first round' of appointments and that was PLENTY for me.

When I was 99% sure of the dress I wanted, I made another appointment and brought my mom and all 5 of my bridesmaids. That was an overwhelming experience - even though of the 3 dresses I showed them, I already knew which one I was in love with.

For me, 4 would be too many... JMO!
Good luck!

i think the less people you bring the better.
try it out this first time and see how it goes, but sometimes too many opinions are not needed and the bride ends up leaving with empty handed - even though you may like something b/c of conflicting opinions...
