You will find your dress. I was having the same feeling as you, thinking I'd never find 'the one'. But I finally found mine at Kleinfeld's in Manhattan. If you don't want to trek into the city, check out Paradise Bridal in Patchogue. They had a great selection.

Re: Gown Shopping - Can't find 'the one'
I had the same thing happen, I jsut got my dress 2 months ago after looking since October. I finally found 'the one' online and went all the way to Philadelphia to try it on! It'll happen, don't worry!

Re: Gown Shopping - Can't find 'the one'
Don't feel bad about it! I went to 9 different shops:
Bay Shore Bridal Suite - 3 times Esther's Bridal in Hoboken Adrienne's in Islip - 2 times RK Bridal in Manhattan Macy's Bridal Salon in Manhattan Sukran's in Westport, CT Memories Bridal in North Bergen, NJ The Wedding Store at Liz Clinton's Bridal Reflections in Massapequa
I kept finding things that I really liked, but something was holding me back. I kept picking up different qualities that I liked about the dresses, but couldn't find something that encapsulated all of them. This past weekend I found a dress at Bridal Reflections that had everything that I wanted in a dress. I'm still going to Reba's Brides in North Bergen, NJ and The Bridal Suite in Stamford, CT, but mostly to price out the dress that I like. Not everyone is a big 'The One' person, so if you're not crying or gushing over a dress don't feel bad. I just know that I would love to wear that dress on my wedding day. I'm sure if I keep looking I'll find something else I love just as much, but I'm comfortable not looking anymore.
Have you tried narrowing down the style you like? Strapless or not, ballgown or A-line or any other style? Traditional or unique?
Once you narrow that part down, it may make your decision easier.

I went shopping for the third time for gowns this weekend and again didn't find 'the one'
It's getting a little disappointing and depressing.
So far we've been to Davids Bridal, Lillette's and Macys Demetrios and I have upcoming appts at Burtons Bridal and Bridal Garden in Bethpage.
Suggestions on where else I should go?
Do you know what style you are looking for? or perhaps a certain designer? I tried on like 20 gowns before I found the one, don't get discouraged!

Thanks for the upbeat feedback!
Each time I try on dresses I do narrow down what I like so I feel like I'm being somewhat productive.
At least I now know that I'm not alone and that trying on tons of dresses is more common then I thought!

I went to Bridal World in Baldwin. They showed me so many dresses in my price range. Probably 20 or more dresses. Then I narrowed down and they even found me more dresses in the style I wanted.
Bonnie was wonderful!

I would go to Bayshore Bridal Suite or Huntington Bridal Suite. I loved both of those places and found tons of dresses

Re: Gown Shopping - Can't find 'the one'
I had the same problem. I must have tried on a million dresses and didn't like any of them. I'm not the princess dress type so I didn't fee right in them. The on I ultimately chose is one I also didn't even try on because I thought it was too puffy but when I put it on it was very flattering.
I didn't buy it then. I ended up trying on many other dresses and comparing them to that one. I finally went and purchased that dress.
One thing I will say is try on different styles even if you don't think you'd like them. You never know until you try the style on.
Good luck!

That's where i found my gown also( although it was by accident). Knowing what style you want makes it easier to decide.

Have you tried RK Bridal in the city? They have TONS of dresses reasonably priced. I would avoid Kleinfeld if you're not prepared to spend a minimum of 1000 for a dress. I know some girls go there 'cus they do have a good selection but end up sticker shocked or fall in love with a dress out of their price range.
Good luck!

For me I went to Kleinfelds and had a really bad experience there. I believe it was the person helping me. I was so upset when I left there b/c I felt as if I would never find a dress. Then I went to the wedding salon of Manhassett and found my dress and I highly recommend that place.
Some other suggestions are:
Bridal Reflections Princess Bridals
Good Luck and you will find your dress!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I forgot to add RK Bridal to my list! Make that 9 places , but I didn't really get helped there. Even though I went on a week day, they couldn't add anyone else to the list. They do have a HUGE selection, just be patient and get there early!
I did Kleinfeld's and decided to have fun with it. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to find a dress there because even if I have the $$$, I can't see spending that much on a dress. Although I went in with the attitude that if I found something, and didn't find something else by September I'd get it. Anyway,I tried on 2 dresses that I LOVED that were outside of my price range, but it turned out they weren't worth the money to me. They did however push me to look at some different styles of dresses, which is how I found the one I'm probably going to order.

I hear ya! There is also Bridal Suite of Bayshore. And Renates in Lindenhurst. I think I finally found mine! I tried it on my first day, liked it lots, but thought it was out of my price range and it didn't seem right finding it at my first store...so I have been to about 5 stores, and I went to BR in Massapequa on Thursday and they had it there, so I thought, let me try this on to see how I feel about it now that I know what style is best for me and all..WELL, I NEARLY CRIED, couldn't take it off and had 'that feeling'...but let me tell you, I felt just like you...why aren't I having that feeling all the girls talk about, and to be honest, I had put that dress out of my head because of the price of it..but I called Philis at gownfind and I can swallow the price a lot better now!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is so funny that I am saying this now...You will know!

Re: Gown Shopping - Can't find 'the one'
That's ok.. sometimes it just takes time... and a willingness to try on stuff you would never put on -
I went to
Adrienne's The Wedding Center Lilette's Burton's Paradise Bridal (3 visits - last was a purchase and try on for mom) Bridal Suite of Bayshore (2 visits) Bridal Suite of Centereach
So I made 10 visits - didn't find the ONE until visit number 9 (my second trip to Paradise bridal).
Plus I found out that the dress was from Maggie's newest collection - so it really was a matter of timing. And it was a style I didn't think I wanted.
So keep your head up---- you'll find it.
