Gowns

How far in advance is too far? Is it normal to look like a year in advance?

Some of us already looked and purchased ours...i think it is completely up to you...i couldnt wait to look and I found one that i just loved and knew that it wouldnt change! I say no harm in looking and finding what styles you like!

I know that I will change my mind 5 million times so I am not even going to start looking until about a year before the wedding..

i've already tried on dresses and i know some girls already bought their dresses. its never too soon to look and get an idea of what you like.

My wedding is in 529 days (a year and 4 months) and I just bought my gown on Wednesday. She said it takes 9 months for it to come in, and then you need a few months for fittings. She said I'm right on schedule.

i know that some people are going to get there dress already but, I think it depends on you.... If you think you are going to change your mind often then i would wait until next year but, if you fall in love with something that you would be happy with forever than why not buy it.
I know i change my mind about things every hour so since i have time I am going to wait

most designers take that long to make the dress. I got a Maggie Sottero gown.

many dresses take that long to come in...my dress is taking a year to come in...ordered it march 06 and it'll be ready march 07

that is the average time...usually its 8-10 months to come in...SOME you can sometimes get in 6 months. And then some that even take up to a year

wow...glad I asked. Haha. I'm getting married in june '09 most likely so...I'll probably look in the winter or early spring. I'm not going to do it now because though I do have something in mind I think I need to make sure I don't change my mind haha. Thanks for all the input.

I am totally waiting until a year at least before my wedding..I don't want to do everything now and have nothing to do the year of the wedding...and styles change and so do bodies so I am waiting for that.

this is me for sure...im waiting until 08 to start really looking and trying on...right now i just have a budget and ideas of the type and style i want

i already have mine...and i couldnt see myself walking down the aisle in anything but what i bought... so its perfect. :) you just get that feeling when you know.

Wow, i'm glad you asked too! i guess i should start looking especially since i really want a maggie (and someone said she is waiting 9 months for her dress to come in!).
