Anyone know any good places ( long island and manhatten) to get designer gowns at whole sale ?
I have a friend who is looking for a store in manhatten in specific but LI would be perfect too!

RK bridals in nyc has a no frills mail order service that you can use to buy a dress you like at a significant discount.... I wouldn't call it wholesale, though.
I'm pretty sure there isn't a place like that on LI.
RK is really busy, so if you call them, you should try to make it on a weekday in the late morning or during lunch. They are extremely helpful on the phone.... but I've also heard reports from other brides that they become less attentive when they have 30 women trying on dresses, such as on a sat afternoon....

Where I got my gown was a place that received gowns from bridal shops that had been discontinued. This place then sells the gowns for about $100, give or take, just to pay for their feeding the underpriveledged. I got my gown for $25, my friend got hers for $65 and my other friend got hers around $100. BRAND NEW gowns!!!!!!!!!!! If you'd like to know more, please FM me. They are amazing!!!!!!!!!
