Hi there- I'm heading out to start looking for dresses tomorrow with my mom. I'd ideally like a gown with sleeves or a jacket. I'm self consious of my arms and would feel the most comfortable that way. It seems however, that these are hard to come by. i was wondering if anyone tried them on during their search or if I should just not bother and invision say, a strapless dress with a custom made jacket over it when I go.
This is a link to my wedding gown with sleeves...I LOVED my gown. I know there has been some bad reviews lately about Paradise Bridal in Patchouge. But I went there and had a good experience. Compared to some of the places that I went to, they had a fairly large selection of gowns with sleeves. I used JOJO and she was great. I recommend her.

Re: Gowns with sleeves
I tried it on, and actually, my gown came with off-the-shoulder kind of straps that the seamstress made into detachable straps. The jacket is easy enough to order, too, because everyone suggested it to me. What about gloves?

Re: Gowns with sleeves
I am getting a balero jacket with my wedding dress - it is custom made but the dress manufactuerer makes them (casablanca) you can get it made however you want and the price depends on what it is made of. I am getting 3/4 sleeves and its made from lace that is the same as my dress. No pics yet but its deffinately amazing looking from what I can tell.
I feel the same way about my arms. I also don't want to be the girl that everyone just stares at my huge arms the entire night.

that is a really nice dress...
if you want to do something off the shoulder.. but not a total arm sleeve... i would do something like this... ONE OR just look at the sleeves.. not the dress.....

Re: Gowns with sleeves
I feel exactly the same about my arms. Working on it...but just in case..I'm thinking of doing the jacket..I've seen them customized and sometimes you can't even tell they're jackets. But the dresses you girls provided links too are really nice. And I know David's Bridal has the option of adding different sleeves to a lot of their dresses.

Re: Gowns with sleeves
Lots of the gowns I tried on had a jacket or sleeves for the simple reason that I am having a Jewish wedding and we're going to be under the chuppa. Also I hate the way that my arms look.
I saw lots at David's Bridal (you can now add sleeves to many of their dresses btw), but I got my Maggie Sottero gown from Lillette's- pics are in my album.
