We show up and the guy that owns the place Stefan comes out and is talking to us for what seemed like 3 weeks. I didn't hear a word I was looking around at all the shiny jewlery and honestly when it comes to jewlery i am all business. I don't want your whole lecture, I dont want to hear how great you think you are etc.. just show me the stuff. So that annoyed me. Please keep in mind I get annoyed easily. Even afterwards FH was like ' i thought you were going to walk out'.. I am impatient. All in all Stefan totally rubbed me the wrong way. Even though he claims to not be a 'sales person'..he is..
Anyhow finally we get down to business and he was telling us about their process. They only do custom rings. They make a wax mold for you and you are very involved in the process of designing it etc. I was happy at that point b/c unlike the other jewlers I went to, when I told him my idea he took out similiar things that was pretty much exactly what I wanted. I gave him my budget. I didn't like how he tried to make me go higher, but I was firm and said that is my budget so we have to work to make the ring fit in that price range.
The one thing I did not like is that you have to decide right then and there if you want to go through with it and give them a deposit. Then you make an appointment to make the wax mold.. I think the whole process takes about 4 months or so. I am not good at making any kind of decision so I let FH decide for me. He said Yes and we gave them a deposit. Now that its all over I am excited and confident that they will make me a very nice ring. However, two other negatives... (1) they only 'guarentee' the ring and diamonds for a year and (2) You only have 2 weeks to get a full refund after the ring is made. If you want to make sure the ring is correctly priced etc you have to get it appriased by an independent gemologist, not one that is affiliated with a Jewlery store. To me those are little things I can look past for a beautiful ring.
I have heard many many great things about them so I am happy and excited...plus I gave them $300 deposit and made my appointment for the wax mold so now I am stuck. I will let you know how the other appointments go. If you know you want a custom ring I suggest you go check them out. Try to look past Stefan's weirdness and don't pay attention to his lame stories and you will be fine.
I hope that helped, just trying to be as honest as possible. Please keep in mind that I am the most indecisive person on this planet so my feelings about one particular thing will change multiple times. As you can tell I was about to walk out in the beginning and then at the end I gave a deposit!!

Re: gporka23....
Why do they make you decide on the spot? You can't go home and think about it and come in for a second appointment?
That makes no sense. FH would NEVER go for that shiz.

I really didn't like that either and usually when people pressure me I say no and run for the hills.. I actually walked away at that point and let FH decide. He said yes because he has been to about 90 jewlers with me in the past 2 months and NONE of them understood what I wanted like this guy did so he knew I would get the ring I wanted from them. If he is wrong.. so help me god.. he is dead
ETS: They claim they have too many clients to have multiple appointments and can not treat the process like its a normal jewlery store where you can come in and out and 'look' alot. I didnt get it I walked away and ate all of their M&M's

lol I understand what your saying. FH and I went there w/o an appt once and we sat with him for 10 mins that seemed like 10 hours and after everything we had to make another appt for the 'full' consultation. But I have heard nothing but great things and I really loved his initial idea. I'm sure you will be happy with the end result!!!

I agree. It was very weird. Even though I was a little turned off by the whole experience I knew I would get a beautiful ring and love the end result.
