My sister, a friend and I are planning a weekend trip to Memphis for the middle of July. Does anyone have any do's/don'ts or recomendations? TIA

My sister went to Graceland and was very dissapointed! Unless you are a HUGE Elvis fan I would suggest skipping it.
My cousins live in TN and I can ask them what is good to do there!!

Aside from the touristy Elvis stuff (which we would love) I am not sure what there is to do there or what area we should stay in.

I went to Graceland with my family about 10 years ago, I was 15-16 years old and we loved it! I grew up with a mother who LOVED Elvis, so I think we knew what to expect.
Other than Graceland though, there is NOT much in Memphis.
I only drove through TN...but Memphis looked blah...
If anything I would stay in Nashville...and then make a roadtrip to Graceland...

I had a blast in Memphis. I would recommend going to Graceland, Beale Street, Sun Studio, Memphis Belle, The National Civil Rights Museum, The Peabody Hotel Duck Walk. Take the trolly throughout downtown also.
