All of my friends, coworkers, etc, stayed there and loved it!!!

We aren't staying there because we're using our timeshare week. I'm bummed but, FH promises we can go back and use some of the pts we're earning having our wedding at a Hyatt.

How was the Princeville? I've heard mixed reviews about that side of the Island. We were looking at staying there because we can do that through our Starwood Points from our time share.

it's a little wetter (not by much). the south shore where the hyatt is located tends to be more touristy and we didn't do much there. The North Shore, where the princeville is located is gorgeous. i loved kee beach and did some hiking through the Na Pali coast. North Shore is definately great for exploring and it has the most awesome laid back surfer community feeling. We went to a luau at the princeville and remember meeting many honeymooners.
if you go to the north shore, do visit secret beach, go to the hanalei bakery and just hang out at any of the beaches and watch the surfing action. awesone.

Thanks so much! I've heard mixed things about it and we're trying to figure things out.

the hyatt was under construction when i went however, i did eat dinner there and tour the grounds which were beautiful---DH and i also headed up to the princeville area----which is also very pretty---i thought there was more to do in the poipu (hyatt) area---that's where i'd recom. staying

We stayed at the Princeville & drove by the Hyatt. The other posters are right - there is more going on near the Hyatt. Our view from our room was gorgeous at the Princeville, but I don't think I would stay there again. There were lots of families and I liked the area near the Hyatt better. It is worth going to see the Princeville area (maybe have dinner at Cafe Hanalei - the view and the food was excellent, but make a reservation and request a table outside near the edge of the restaurant.) I have no idea what the inside of the Hyatt was like though. We have had friends who stayed there and really liked it.
