Grandma thought she could finally enjoy her golden years in peace and relaxation and then she started having chest pains. She is in the hospital in Ohio and scheduled for an angioplasty. She will be 80 on Monday. Please pray she is home for her birthday.

From what I know of it, it's pretty tame. As with any procedure, there are risks involved - but as long as your grandma is in good health otherwise, she should be just fine.
A friend of ours was supposed to have one, but they discovered that his problem was more extensive than they first thought - he ended up needing a bypass.

Just got word: it's not angioplasty. She actually needs bypass surgery

if she is strong and healthy she will be fine...they do this surgery all the time with great success

She's pretty healthy, but she is going to be 80, so I am worried just by her age.

She may be uncomfortable in the next couple of weeks while she heals, but I'm sure she will do well.
