Grandparent Attire Help!

I'm just curious about this, I assumed the grandfathers would wear suits and the grandmothers would wear nice dresses.

Well, anyway, my mom was showing my dad's side of the family her MOB dress pics over the weekend and my grandfather's girlfriend (not a fan favorite) said she was wearing something similar to her granddaughter's wedding in August. Then, she goes on to describe the long wine-colored gown she will be wearing to my wedding in December (ok, so the bridesmaids are wearing pretty much the same color but, anyway...)

I know this woman's goal in life is to make our family nuts so I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to be or just another one of those things to make her stand out.

Help please!

ETA: If this is the case, I'm going to have to go shopping for a 'grandmother of the groom' dress as well since his grandmother doesn't get around well and his mom doesn't drive.

I'm not really sure what you're asking... the grandparents should wear nice dresses... she is wearing a nice dress... what's the problem? Is it that it's a long dress?

I guess I'm just a little confused as to what the issue is... I mean, yes, your grandmother needs a nice dress to wear... but why is that a question?

Do they need to be wearing like a MOB gown or something (that's what it sounds like she's wearing).

ETA: And should my grandfather's be in tuxes?

Its up to her and you. I dont think there is a set role. They have fancy dressed for grandmas even at Macys or Bloomingdales.

My grandpa wore a tux to my cousins...if he was still alive he would have worn one to mine. But agan its up to them and you.
