you should print your invites on a full sheet and then cut them out, the printer needs something to grab and if the design goes to the edge then it can't print that area.

did you call a printer? sometimes those small printing shops can do it...i had a few things printed by a small printing shop

However, you have to leave some space i don't think any printer can print to the edge you may need to get larger paper and then cut the cardstock

printing then cutting would be the way to go. most normal printers that you pick up won't do a full-bleed print. you can check that by going to the manufacturers website or contacting their customer service line.
you can:
-buy more card stock and start over-worst case.
-work with having a bit of a bare edge by trimming down, etc
-see if you can send them off to somebody.
-if you're setting them up in photoshop or illustrator, you can set your paper sizes through your print settings and size of your image when you created it (ex: add an extra quarter inch of height and width). this will work sometimes. you can set the image size slightly larger and test one out, sometimes that's a way to trick it. i'm sure you can try it in other programs, i just couldn't tell you how, but i'm sure 5 minutes and google could help :)

if you already cut and want to print, size the page bigger. If you have 5x7 paper and can't print to the edge, size the document to 6x8 for instance but make a box or use margins to see where the 5x7 will be. it worked beautifully for me

also, check to see if your printer has new drivers. i just bought a brand new printer and it does print to the edge but it's listed as 'borderless'. see if there's a driver on the website for yours

if you extend your design past the margin it will print to the edge however some will be cut off so you have to make sure that the part you extend is not a part you actually want printed

When I was printing my envelopes, i wanted the design to come from the edge so in the print preview I dragged pass the margin...

However,
printing then cutting may be a lot easier
