Grateful Dead review....
All I can say is UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...
Let me tell you that I am NOT a Dead fan, but my FH loves them
We saw them last night at Jones Beach. Got there alittle early, and still had to park at the far parking field (the one where you have to walk across the bridge). We walked around the other parking field, and I have to say, I thought I was in a movie. It was actually really cool! There were little bands set up jamming, people selling crystals, bracelets, balloons filled with nitrus oxide (sp??), veggie burritos, all kinds of stuff. And the weed that was at this place!!!!!!! It was EVERYWHERE. People were lighting up right out in the open, like they were cigarettes. It was definately strange and different, but funny.
OK, the show. Although I don't know many songs (other than the ones my FH has forced me to listen to in his car) they were pretty good. Well actually, the FIRST 3 HOURS of the show was pretty good. However, when hour 4 began, and it started to downpour, and my a$$ hurt from the rock hard seat, and I had people passing joints to my right and left, and I felt like I was the ONLY person there who had not attended Woodstock...it all started to wear thin. When hour 5 began, and my eyes were stinging because my mascara had run into them from the outdoor shower that I was taking, I was ready to shoot myself. (the one thing I LIKED about the show was Joan Osborne...She's the one that did that song 'What if G-d were one onf us' and she sang with The Dead and her voice was awesome.
Needless to say, when my FI jokingly asked if I'd be coming back with him tonight (YES, he had to get tickets to BOTH nights (
) I told him he couldn't pay me enough.
And THAT is the end of my review...
(On a happier note, my son comes home on Tuesday!!!!
