great! 4 weeks till the wedding and my cousin who's supposed to do my make up can't!!

i'm very happy for her, because the reason she can't do it is lives in FL and just conceived using a fertility treatment and shes not sure if she'll be able to fly up.
but now i'm on the hunt a good make up person. i don't wear much make up so i was thinking of just doing it myself, but i'm not very good at it. i did research a few months ago and kacey from kholoud's was available, stacey from fresh face forward, and marie katz is also available. can anyone give me feedback good or bad about any of the 3 make up aritists above?
also i'm only about 10 mins from maximus in westbury. so if anyone can recommend a make up artist from there that could work too. thanks!!

She can come to you or you can go there.
Price was $75 at the salon.

god i know how you fell...i finally booked Mia from ************* and i was so lucky that she was still available...my cousin was supose to do mine as well, but she kept flaking out on me...so i just said screw it, i'll pay the money to have a pro do it. I feel so releived that it is taken care of

Yes. I actually didn't pay for the make-up portion, because I had a gift certificate from when i registered at Fortunoff's .
Bridal hair was $105 and the make-up will be $75.

can i suggest going to the mac make-up counter at the mall (either macy's or mac themselves) and get it done there? i have had good experiences with mac before!

I am using Stacey from Fresh face foward....shes awesome and will travel! A trial is only $40 and like you I don't wear much makeup so was kind of in shock when I saw myself and she worked to make me comfortable and redid it a million times to make it perfect!

She really is fabulous!

I just booked Kacey from Khoulads, she is great and knows what colors work best plus she is very personable and nice. That means alot when you are going to spend pretty much the whole day with a person, you don't want someone who you don't feel comfortable with.

i know the MAC store does it free if you buy $50 worth of products - my mom and sister just had make-up done there and they did a great job!

I want to do both at the same place. I can't be bothered running around on my wedding day for both services. This is the best price I have found at a salon, and one that will not charge me a huge amount to open early (7:30) instead of normal hours.
All that said, price was really not a huge factor in my decision, it was the caliber of the hair and makeup artistry.

thanks for all the suggestions. ur trials are beautiful!! i'm trying to keep costs down so i'm going try to get a trial with Debbie at maximus this weekend and if i like it will book her.

ETA: debbie from maximus will be away the weekend of my wedding. back to the drawing board.

ETA part 2- she called me back and said that sunday is usually her day off but she can come in special for the wedding. so i have a trial with her saturday at 12. YAY!!!

try aurora in Oyster bay- just a few minutes from Westbury, and she will come to you the day of your wedding- i just booked Debbie for hair and makeup- incredibly reasonably priced, and wonderful work!!!
