Great ideas for RH, but is it too much where it will be tacky?
So, I have so many ideas, themes, wedding stations that I'm afraid will overwhelm my guests. I tend to do this all with taste, but am I getting over myself and will the end result end in tackiness?
Here's a few I had in mind....
1) 2 photobooths to include a wedding scrapbook station 2) Cigar Bar 3) Special lighting effects/spotlight w/ name or initials on dance floor 4) smog/smoke effect for first dance. 5) 2 Ice luges for bar with lighting shooting through
And really?.... is a $35k budget really practical for all these amenities?

If you want it, have it! It's your day...!! I think you can do it on your day. It doesn't seem too much me...
The only thing that confuses me is an ice luge because I have no idea what that is
Welcome and congratulations, too!

Congrats! Well, I gotta tell you, its not too much if thats what you want! The only thing that might be hard is fitting it in all within your budget. You're getting married in CA, and I really dont know what a reception alone goes for out there.

An Ice Luges are ice sculptures for bars. Example: If you wanted a chilled liquor, it would be poured at the top of the sculpture. Your guest will be holding their glass at the bottom, while watching the liquid flow through the sculpture. And BAM! Ya got a chilled cocktail. It's really cool when flavored martinis are mixed. Both will be poured at the top in different holes, eventually meeting and mixing in the middle of the sculpture and of course is served at the bottom of the sculpture into your glass.
If your blessed with an awesome bartender , he could really make this a huge highlight of the event.

Thanks for the reassurance.
Weddings out here in CA can be pretty pricey. But to be honest, I think it all depends on the person. I read somewhere stating that today's wedding starts around 20k at the LEAST. And we're talking about the bare minimum.
Out here in the Bay Area/San Francisco, for an average wedding with minimal perks range from 25k-30k+. How are weddings out there?

I think u should do it, but maybe in moderation, like maybe only have the cigar roller for 2 hours (if possible). I've heard that some brides are concerned about their guest focusing on all the other activities and not the wedding itself.

It's your day and you could definatly pull it all off! I think the smoke might take away from your first dance though...you want to make sure everyone can see you.
I know on LI it would most likely cost more than 35K to include everything, however, I suggest you price around to see what you can get. Good luck!
