GREAT SURPRISE!!!!! (sorry, a little long)

We're getting married on a Sunday, and originally planned to leave for our honeymoon the next day and then return the following Sunday night (with me starting classes the next day!) Tight squeeze, but I only have a 2 week window between the end of my summer job and the start of classes -- this arrangement gives me a week before the wedding to tie up loose ends and a week after for honeymooning.

We booked our honeymoon last week and after a lot of back-and-forth we decided to come back on Monday night rather than Sunday night, even though it meant another day off from work for FH and me missing my first day of classes.

When we had originally set our date the 08-09 academic calendar wasn't set yet, but the registrars office said they were 'pretty sure' classes would be starting Aug 25th (and not the 18th). We set our date anyway because we knew things wouldn't be definite until 2008 and didn't want to wait that long.

Well... the 08-09 calendar just went up today and next year's classes are starting the 27th (WEDNESDAY!!!) Not only will I not have to miss the first day of classes, but I'll actually have a day to unpack and get settled and buy my books and actually do the reading

I'm so happy that this actually worked out and I'm really glad we added the extra day to our honeymoon!

Yes... I couldn't have planned it better I was actually considering trying to buy one book in advance to start reading on the flight back but now I can fully enjoy our honeymoon with no stress
