Great Wine

I am going to a wedding shower tomorrow for my boss, and the theme of the shower is 'wine'.

While I drink wine all of the time, I wanted to get a very nice bottle of wine and have no idea what a good bottle of wine was ( I always drink the cheap stuff).

So, does anyone have a suggestion for a $40-$50 bottle of wine?

Thanks!

Macari Alexandra-$75
After a long wait and much anticipation, this premium meritage has been released. A blend of 69% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec, these grapes were hand selected from only the best of each block. Alexandra exhibits a majestic ruby color with fragrant aromas of ripe black plums and blackberries with underlying lashes of spicy cloves and licorice. Perfectly balanced, this wine has a full generous mouth and a long, lingering finish.

Macari Bergen Road-$40
In its fourth vintage, this meritage is a carefully selected blend of 75% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2%Malbec. On the nose, there is a harmonious pairing of sweet vanilla bean and toasty spice. Balanced structure emits intense flavors of raspberry, blackberry and dark chocolate. Mid palate, this elegant, classy wine is dense and full leading to a soft finish with a burst of black cherry tobacco and black tea. This family favorite will age beautifully for many years to come.

Thanks so much!
