greece honeymoon....i dont know what to do

So, our RH gives us 10 days in Greece. Originally, we were thinking of doing a meditereanean cruise and then going to the resort in greece (crete).

When i first called our RH, the lady mentioned that the beginning of may is not ideal beach weather and we should considering doing this later in the summer.

(i posted about the weather before)

So, i started looking at other HM ideas, and i figured we can maybe do the greece trip next summer (2011).

So I called today, and the RH said the greece offer is only good until June 2010. So that stinks.

Basically, we have to decide whether we should take a FREE resort HM when it might be too cool/cold to enjoy it...or forgo it....

we want to take the HM after we get married, so we wont have more vacation time before june to actually use it...

this kinda bums me out....

i know this is not the worst thing in the world...but i really want to be able to LAY ON A WARM BEACH for the HM...and who knows....

what to do? what to do?.....

Maybe you can take the Greece trip as your 'honeymoon,' then plan a beachy trip somewhere else for later in the year?

My grandmother's neighbor grew up on Crete, so she is giving us a list of fun things to do while we're there (FH and I aren't really lounging on the beach kind of people lol). I can pass that on to you if you want. Apparently the little towns are really fun, and you're not too far from a cool archaeological dig. I was a Classics major, so the hm was a big reason why we booked SandCastle--it would stink if you couldn't use it!

I dont really want to lose the vacation....but im just afraid we wont enjoy it as much...

fh and i are prob giong on our HM in Novemeber, and we're getting married in April.

well..look online and see the temps for that particular area for this time of year. i dont think its cold. when some1 in greece says its not beach weather, they mean its 80 degrees not 102 like it is in the summer

average temps are 65-75 for early may. maybe there will be a heat wave? lol

i cant wait -- too impatient -- plus its the only time we can both take a longer time off work without getting dirty looks.

as far as i know the hm is good for up to a year after your wedding date (fsil is getting married there thats what they told her and the same thing for another girls i know who got married there this past nov).... i would go June 2011

I've been to Greece in May and I think you'll still love the weather.

Also, we aren't taking our honeymoon for eleven months but we went on an engagement cruise over Spring Break this year, we might do another before the wedding with his family, we went on a roadtrip...you don't need an excuse to vaca with your fiance. If you have vacation time, use it!

We get the same offer at Floral Terrace but I thought they said you could use it for your 1st Anniversary. My sister is getting married at Sandcastle and thats what they told my sister too. She is working with Mohammad.

I booked with Sandcastle too i would like more information about this trip to GReece what is included? Just the hotel is it all inclusive? Do they pay airfare too??? Please let me know.

Thats funny thats my sister's name...lol....I would definately go in and check it out. That would be nuts if they told you that and won't honor it. Yes, we are both using it but for our first anniversaries.

Hey... I am offered the same honeymoon through Floral Terrace and I am getting married in October. I looked at the weather and it will only be in the 60's or 70's, but we are still going to go.

The way I looked at it was, when will I ever get the chance to take a trip to Europe ever again? It may be 25 years from now. Originally, we were going to go to an island in the Caribbean, but I feel like we can do that whenever we want. Going to Greece is something that we will never have the $$ to do for a very long time and something that we will never block away enough days to do for a very long time. People I know cautioned me against moving it back, because we were considering going the following summer so it was warm... they told us that it would be SO hard to get over 10 days off of work, etc. etc.

same here... i'm also having an april wedding & getting this hm stay in greece for FREE. I think we're going to take it cuz i just cant throw this free stay.. at a nice hotel.. in crete away! You can always take your 1st hm choice vacation on your 1 yr anniversary. It's not everyday you get this kinda offer.

plus.....they told me at the sandcastle that the hm is good for the first few months after your wedding (like 4 months, not a year).
