Re: Greek Brides??

Deby...maybe a diamond bracelet to go with your earings.

My proposal took place the day before Christmas Eve. We went to the city for a nice dinner, went to see a show, the christmas tree, etc. He got us a hotel room at the Essex House and when we got back, he had champagne & floweres waiting for me.

I'm such a dork...I still didn't realize he was going to propose...and I put the Sopranos on.

He started yelling at me to turn the tv off & I was like what are you nuts. Then he got on one knee & proposed. It was ver nice.

Re: Greek Brides??

Cavo sounds like a good place to have an e-party or a shower. I never thought of that!!

Our proposal story is funny and kinda long...FH proposed to me on July 1, 2002. He surprised me with a trip to Vegas (or what i thought) but the night before he told me we were really going to St. Martin!!! He even had our travel agent in on it!!! Anyways....on a side note I really thought he was going to propose around christmas time 2002 because that is when I was going to be graduating and his parents were going to come back from Greece around then too...I didn't think he would propose with his parents in Greece so he really threw me off. When we got to St. Martin it was so beautiful!! We stayed at this amazing and very $$$ resort and he even got us a beachfront room!!! (The sliding doors opened up and you stepped in sand and the beach was smack in your face!!) So anyways, the next day we decided to take a boat trip to St. Barths. The boat was so small (only about 30 people could fit) and I got really really sea sick because the sea was very rough. I threw up all over FH feet!!!!!!!!!!!When we finally got to St. Barths we rented a car and found a secluded beach. All I wanted to do was lay down and relax but FH kept bugging me to go for a walk on the beach. I had no clue he was about to propose because he is always romantic and doing romantic things (and remember I was not expecting a proposal that early!!) So we go for a walk and he is being all romantic and he asks me to close my eyes and he gets down on one knee and proposes!! It was my dream proposal come true...very romantic and I was in total shock that I started crying!!! It was the best surprise of my life!!!!!!!! and of course the happiest day of my life!!!!!!!!!! My parents had known about it because he asked for my hand before we went away. I always thought that I would be able to tell when he was going to propose because I thought I was going to figure it out from my parents, but they were soooo good at keeping it a secret!!!!!!!!!

Re: Greek Brides??

I'm probably going to end up wearing pearls. I think they go better with most dresses (another to do: get a dress!). That's a great idea. Thanks.

Re: Greek Brides??

I know a few people who have planned a wedding before getting proposed to. It's more common now than you think...especially, if you want to find a date, church, hall, etc. in the more popluar months.

Re: Greek Brides??

I have seen Papastefanou perform many many times and I always said that I when I get married I want him to sing at my wedding. I went to see Delta (i think that was their name) but I wasn't too impressed. People kept telling me that Papastefanou is $$$$ but IMO he brings kefi to the crowd so we booked him.
