I have a question, ive only been to like 1 greek ceremony lol and i cant remeber how the the bride walked in or what tradition is etc. Basically I want a string quartet for the ceremony but does it mesh well with a greek ceremony??

Re: GREEK Brides!!!!!!!!!
I've been to several and its usually the organ but you can do a string quartet... I was at a wedding last month and she had a string quartet... I want one too because i really dont like the way the organ sounds and there are certain songs that i like for when i walk down that i think would sound stupid on the organ... as for meshing well with the ceremony, i dont see why not... the only thing you would need the quartet for is for walking down the aisle and then at the end when you leave

Re: GREEK Brides!!!!!!!!!
It must be parish specific then, because I was told under no uncertain terms am I allowed to have a string quartet. It's either chanting and no instruments at all, or the organ's rendition of pre-approved classical pieces. I was just so thrilled that at least I'd be able to use Canon in D that I didn't care that it had to be from an organ. Clearly this is the rule of FH's church if others have had strings...your best bet would just be to ask your priest directly!

Re: GREEK Brides!!!!!!!!!
yeah, my church only allowed the organist so I think it depends on the chuch. They said only traditional wedding music. I think she's playing cannon in D for the bridal party and the traditional wedding march for me.

St. Paraskevi in Greenlawn...I'm not going to make any waves because the priest is cool with strapless dresses, so you win some, you lose some lol.
