Greek Honeymoon

So, I've been reading a lot of good things about Santorini in Greece. Has anyone ever been to Greece? And do you think a HM there would be crazy expensive??

FH and I booked our honeymoon to Greece: Athens/Mykonos/Santorini......in total 11 days.....knowing we'd never do such a big vacation like that for awhile we went all out.......with airfare...around 10,500........We could have done it for around 6,000 altogether........So there are definetly ways to cut the price. The pics we have of santorini and the islands are amazing!!! We booked through Liberty Travel......the lady said the earlier the better and we are going July 1st, 2008........FM if you want more info.

FH and I are also honeymooning in Greece- Mykonos, Santorini and Athens. I've already booked the Santorini leg of the trip, as the place we want to stay only has 10 rooms. It is going to end up being pretty $$, but that is why we saved it for our honeymoon.

I am planning on my own, without a travel agent and have found tripadvisor.com to be very helpful. Feel free to fm me....

Re: Greek Honeymoon

We're doing a cruise for our HM which goes to several Greek islands.

The cruise itself is $2500. We haven't gotten airfare yet since we're not actually going until May. We figured that March might not be the best time to go and the peak period begins in july. I figure this way we get a taste of different places.

Yeah, I'm pretty lost about this whole greece travel thing. I don't really know which islands to go to b/c FH wnats a quiet one. I want some clubs around, but great scenery is a def important point.

I was opting for athens/santorini/mykonos/crete extension in istambul. is that too much? we have 16 days. he doesn't like cruises much. I would prefer to take the boat from island to island but doesn't matter to me.

some lady the other night was talking to me about ikaria, patmos, paros, kalymnos, kos, samos. ---> I don't know anything about those.

What are the islands with a good mix of R&R and good night life??

Re: Greek Honeymoon

I loved Santorini, when I went I always said I would Definatley hands down come here for my honeymoon. Expensive well the conversion rate is bad b/c of the Euro. You can get some good deals..but if you go right after ur wedding you'll pay good rates for airfare.

PS as far as nightlife...Mykonos is NUTS you can always take a ferry to other islands from Santorini.
