Do i really need to walk to every single table and say hi? or can i just wait till the end and stand at the door and everyone can walk up and say good bye.. i want to dance the night away.. if you want me you are going to have to be on the dance floor

Some people may think it is tacky, but I plan on seeing everyone at the cocktail hour so I can be out there dancing with them the rest of the night. That way I don't feel like I have to go around to everyone's tables.

No, it's not tacky. The way I look at it. This is YOUR day. You've spent a ton of money, and you should be able to enjoy it. I feel the same way as you. I plan on either greeting people at cocktail hour or doing a receiving line after the ceremony. This way, people can say hello, and I can enjoy the rest of my night!

I am planning on zipping us through the CH to say hi and thanks to as many people as possible, that way we can enjoy ourselves on the dance floor with our friends!!!

i would personally be offended if the bride and groom didnt go to the tables - sorry JMHO!
I am going to the CH too but I will also go to the tables. . . I know my family, AND FH's family would basically be horrified if we didnt. . .
i guess you know how your guests would react better than anyone though - we both have old school italians families and we would be blacklisted for something like that, LOL!

Although you are paying for your wedding, I find it extremely rude to not say hello to people and thank them for coming. Do people come to your house and you ignore them??? Probably not. Take time out in the beginning and get it over with. We did our hellos at the cocktail hour and enjoyed the rest of our wedding.

FH & I will greet our guests while they are eating. We will be served dinner first and while the guests are eating, we will do our greeting.

you absolutely should. People are giving you a lareg gift, hopefully, and it is a nice thing to do to make it a point to see EVERYONE. I plan on doing at least half during the cocktail so I don't have to spend too much time during the reception.....I want to parrrrrrrtay!

well like most of you i would love to do it during my cocktail hour... but i am doing my pictures during that time. and getting married at the hall. So I guess ill spend some time saying hello... but i dont want to be spending all nite.. im supposed to be enjoying my nite am i not?

I agree with you! I am going to be out there with my guests during the cocktail hour so I can say hello to everyone but also so that I can have as much time with everyone as possible and enjoy every part of my day. I'm not good at waiting especially on my big day. i can't wait to be there with everyone as husband and wife I couldn't wait in a bridal suite :)

We said hello to a lot of people at the cocktail hour, and we also went to every table during the course of the reception. Lucky we only had 109 people, and 11 tables!

im greeting my guests during cocktail hour (although FH wants to be in our bridal suite the whole time) so i dont have to miss my reception by greeting everyone

We went to every table and greeted our guests and it took a long time. I hadnt planned on doing this, but it felt right at the time.

Honestly, I never imagined not acknowledging the people I invited. Some came from Europe, California, other states, etc. That was the least I could do to acknowledge their presence. I know they appreciated it. Our friends, even co-workers. i did not want them to feel like I invited them just for them to bring a gift. So we went to all tables. We took pics with indiduals at the tables. It was fun and they felt included.
I had my down time/break and sat at the sweetheart table with DH for more intimate moments.
