GREETING GUESTS

GREETING GUESTS

Do you have to spend your entire reception greeting your guests or is it acceptable to greet most of them in the cocktail hour and beginning of the reception so I can have fun with my FH the rest of the night? Everyone has a different opinion but I need a few, I'm scared of not enjoying my wedding night, and being too focused on greeting them all the entire night.

I didn't know the rule, but I wound up just saying hello to about 70% of my guests at the cocktail hour. The rest i did at the reception. And i STILL felt like i didn't have enough time with everyone, but I still had a great time! I don't regret any of it.

I plan on getting to everyone at cocktail hour. I'm not trying to do it person to person, hopefully table to table. I want to party.

We are hoping to get to most people during cocktail hour and 'finishing up' early on into the reception. Depending on how people are seated, you may be able to get by greeting tables as opposed to individual people.

I am hoping to at least say hello and thank you to everyone during my receiving line, that way if I don't get around to every person at the reception, I don't have to feel completely guilty for enjoying myself.

I am having a champagne toast a the conclusion of my ceremony and as we walk up the aisle we will be greeting as many people as possible. If all else fails we will move to the cocktail hour.

We will be joining the cocktail hour for the last 30 minutes that way we can get some of the guest greeted before the reception. I am one of the last of my girlfriends to get married and they all said they wished they had joined their cocktail hour...
