Groom's Cake?

Anyone know about them?

Re: Groom's Cake?

I am having one at our rehearsal dinner (in lieu of dessert) that will be in the shape of FI favorite soccer team (jersey). Some people have it at the actual wedding but I am not sure as to the meaning of having one (i am just going with the flow ).

FI has no clue that I am doing this (it's a surprise to him)

Its done primarily as a gift to the groom from his bride. It was usually presented at the reception, but these days girls are using them as an option for the rehearsal dinner. I thinkin of getting FI one with a big ball and chain on top of it.

I did one at the RD and DH was SO surprised!! I had it done at Audrey's in West Sayville!!
It is a Southern tradition to honor the grrom since the wedding focus tends to be on the bride....'a little something for the man'...so he doesn't feel left out maybe???
Here is a pic...

Re: Groom's Cake?

I heard someone ordering Yankee Stadium cake for her wedding and I was like 'WHAT?' Then when she left I asked the baker and she said that some people were doing it for the groom these days.

I think I am going to have it at the RD as dessert.

Maybe a car or something.

I ordered mine for the rehearsal dinner. It is shaped like a firetruck and it is going to have his engine company on it!

I'm going to have one made that's a poker hand, royal flush. FH loves playing cards with his friends, but he almost never wins, so I;m going to have the suit be hearts and it will say 'lucky in love'
