When do you present the groom's cake? At the rehearsal or at the reception?

Re: Grooms cake
The Groom's cake is a southern tradition and is usually presented at the reception. However, in the northeast we seem to have adopted the tradition of the cake but instead we usually have it presented at the RD.

Re: Grooms cake
I am presenting mine at the rehearsal. There isn't really any other desert served, since it's a Chinese food restaurant, so I thought the cake would serve more of a purpose there than at the reception.

I agree with her up there. I'm in Louisiana and we're setting it up on a table like the bride's cake, just not as girlie. And, it's going to be at the reception.

Re: Grooms cake
I was planning to do the Grooms cake at the RD - I think we will have enough desserts at the wedding (it is also his mom's bday and my parents anniversary so we are getting cakes for that too ).

I will probably have mine at the wedding reception...so everyone can take a look at it.
He is glued to the TV all the time and he loves to go quading. I will probably have a TV made with a picture of his quad in the screen. I got a quote of $300

yeah it would be nice if everyone got to see it. I think I want to get a fun cake for his 30th bday too - mmmm - it will be so hard to cut into them though!

I found this cake, but I'm sure you can having something made up. Maybe just a plan cake with a full house on top as a topper.
I'm serving our grooms cake at the RD. We are having too many cakes. We have a wedding cake, but also a pumkin cake, a sugar-egg free cake (I have diabetics and a good friend allergic to eggs comming,) plus several pies, italian pasteries, cookies, and who knows what else I'm going to be forced to add. Too much cake!
