Groom's Cake

Is anybody getting a groom's cake? I have been to quite a few weddings, but only 1 of them has had this. It is supposed to be something to represent FH, right?
What do you think?

I got DH one but we didn't have it at the reception. Instead we had it at the Rehearsal Dinner, I know a lot of other brides did this as well.

Yes, it's normally something that the groom enjoys doing or maybe his favorite sports team. I got my DH a cake that looked like a hamburger!!

we did it but just because ,my husband is from texas and he expected it - i didnt pay extra for it - but it was ugly (i think they are suppsed to be, right?)

we asked for a sheet cake with a texas flag on it - but it had cheesy decorations on it -- we still laugh about it :)

i had never been to a wedding where they had one b4

I like this idea but I too have been to only one wedding with it. Everyone keeps talking me out of it. Maybe they're right. It is one less expense.

The groom's cake is a huge tradition in the south of the US. States like Texas, Alabama, Louisiana and etc always have them. I guess the tradition is spreading north somewhat. But it is usually something that represents the groom.
